Simulated vs. True Divided Light Doors and Windows

True Divided Light (TDL) windows are made up of small panes of glass separated by muntins (the bars dividing the glass). Simulated Divided Light (SDL) windows are windows designed to replicate this look. SDL windows divided appearance is achieved by placing grilles or bars on the exterior and/or interior surfaces of a single large pane of glass.

SDL windows offer the aesthetic charm of traditional divided light windows while providing the benefits of modern window technology, such as improved energy efficiency and ease of maintenance. AG Millworks offers both SDL and TDL options in various styles and configurations to suit different architectural designs and preferences.

SDL and TDL Wood Shape Options

SDL and TDL bars are offered in three distinct wood shape variations: Bevel, Square, and Ovolo. However, Clad SDL and TDL are exclusively available in the Ovolo shape. While you have the flexibility to select the wood shape for the interior when opting for a Clad exterior and wood interior, the Clad exterior must adhere to the Ovolo shape.
