Project: This project by Gallagher Construction LLC is a special one. The homeowners dreamed of creating an open and airy lifestyle and connecting their living spaces to the outdoors. Located in the illustrious Bridle Trails neighborhood of Bellevue, WA, this home features expansive views of the surrounding forest, which is something the homeowners wanted to highlight. The home was taken down to the foundation and rebuilt to incorporate 10-foot walls and vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams. In the dining room, an AG Millworks Bi-Fold door opens the space to the outdoors and creates an open-air dining experience. The living room features another AG Millworks Bi-Fold that connects to the deck and creates endless views of hundreds of pine trees surrounding the home. The farmhouse style chef’s kitchen features an AG Millworks Bi-Fold window that creates a passthrough from the kitchen to the outdoor living and entertaining area. The homeowners are thrilled with the result—a custom home with unique design touches, luxurious features, and an indoor-outdoor lifestyle.

Project: This scenic beachfront home was a new-build in 2018. The builder was inspired by the beautiful surrounds and the growing design trend of indoor-outdoor living. He wanted to build a home with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and erase the lines between indoor and outdoor living spaces. He used an 8-panel Cottage Style Bi-Fold Door System to eliminate walls and connect the living room to the outdoor deck and pool area. A 6-panel Bi-Fold Passthrough Window connects the expansive, all-white kitchen to the outdoor entertainment area featuring an outdoor breakfast bar. Ocean views are visible from almost every room in the home and an abundance of natural light illuminates every space thanks to the folding doors and windows.

Multi-Slide x Transom Combination
Location: Westlake Village, California
Products: 193" x 120" Clad/Wood 3-panel Multi-Slide Patio Door, 193" x 48" Custom Transom
Project: This scenic hillside home in Westlake Village underwent a full remodel in 2018. The homeowner loves being surrounded by nature and wanted to accentuate the wide-open views of rolling hills visible from his main living space. He wanted a seamless connection from his indoor living space to the balcony where he can relax, take-in the view, and entertain guests. The homeowner opted for large Multi-Slide Patio Doors instead of Bi-Folds because Multi-Slides offer narrower sight lines. To create an even more expansive view and allow more natural light into the space, he chose to include a Custom Transom above the Multi-Slide in his design plans. The Custom Transom was made to match the Multi-Slide Patio Door System and align perfectly with the door panels.

Bi-Fold x Transom Combination
Location: Pacific Palisades, California
Products: 144" x 108" Clad/Wood 10-lite 4-panel Bi-Fold Patio Door, Custom Transom
Project: This custom Craftsman style home in the Pacific Palisades went through a small-scale remodel in 2017. The homeowners enjoy spending time outside and entertaining on the patio and wanted to create a seamless transition from inside to out. With a busy life full of children, pets, and entertaining, the homeowners opted for a beautiful yet functional 4-panel Bi-Fold Door System with a daily door. The daily door opens separately from the rest of the system, making for quick and easy access to and from the backyard. The custom 10-lite configuration of the Bi-Fold Patio Doors was designed to match the doors and windows already in the home in order to create a consistent look throughout. A Custom Transom above the Bi-Fold System was included in the remodel—it was designed to match the adjacent transom, and perfectly align with the folding system below it.

Project: This scenic tasing room, entitled the "Scion House," was a new addition to the Robert Young Estate Winery in 2018. The builder wanted to embrace the beauty of the surrounding vineyard and create an indoor-outdoor wine tasting experience for visitors. He wanted to build a farmhouse style tasting room with expansive views of the vineyard visble from every room. He used two identical 4-panel Bi-Fold Door Systems positioned parallel to each other on opposite ends of the room to eliminate walls and create a seamless transition from outside to inside to outside again. The parallel Bi-Fold Doors optimize light flow and cross-ventilation in the space. Beyond the folding doors lies more views of rolling hills filled with grapevines and an outdoor patio space and fire pit for visitors to enjoy. Another 4-panel Bi-Fold Door System connects an enclosed seating area to the outdoors.

He used a 4-panel Bi-Fold Door System to eliminate walls and connect the kitchen to the expansive balcony, creating an open-air cooking and dining experience. On the lower level, another 4-panel Bi-Fold Patio Door connects the spacious master suite to a private outdoor lounge area. The luxurious wood interior of the Folding Doors adds warmth to the space and adds to the overall Spanish style design. Bi-Fold Door x Window Pairing
Location: Encinitas, California
Products: 132" x 84" Clad/Wood 3-Panel Bi-Fold Patio Door, 153" x 48" Clad/Wood Bi-Fold Passthrough Window
Project: Purchased as a fixer-upper, this home was completely remodeled and transformed into a light and airy open space. The all-white, modern farmhouse style kitchen that connects to the outdoors was high-up on these first-time-homeowners' design wish list— they desired an indoor-outdoor space where they can entertain family and friends. Because of the smaller kitchen layout, the homeowners wanted to use a Bi-Fold Kitchen Passthrough Window to create additional dining space outside via a breakfast bar. The matching Bi-Fold Patio door folds open to connect the living space with the spacious yard and patio.
